Each time I start Limewire everything is ok. Then when I start doing a search and press stop when I see the song i want it freezes. The mouse pointer changes to a two pointed horizontal arrow and it cannot be closed. I have to 'end task' in task manager to be able to close the application. I have also noticed that once I start this programme my CPU usage flies up to 100% and stays there, could this be the reason why?

What's your computer configuration: cpu, ram, HDD space, OS version, Java version, LW version, connection type? Have you installed anything since just before this started happening. 1stly, I'd suggest you update your Java. How did you measure your cpu usage?

Thanks for your reply. I have a 650MHZ processor, 256 SDRAM, 60GB HDD (40GB free), Windows XP home edition, Java 2 runtime environment standard edition V1.3.1_O4, Limewire 4.0.8, 512 ADSL connection. I measure my cpu usage from the task manager thumbnail 'performance'. I will go now and search for an update for java.

I installed Java 2 SE v1.4.2_05 and it has fixed the problem brilliantly, thanks alot!. It now runs and searches perfectly.

My cpu is still maxed @ 100% when I run this programme though, is this normal and nothing to worry about?

What is the min CPU requirement (I know RAM is 64M)?

I have a Intel Pent 4 with 512 Mb of ram and I downloaded the latest java and i still have problems with limewire freezing everytime i try downloading anything. What can i do?
