Not sure what you mean. You can just click the red crosses to remove previous searches. Or are you refering to autocomplete search fields?
Go LW's menu Tools>Options>View & Autocomplete & untick option box. For OSX that's LW Prefs>View & Autocomplete & for OS9 that's Options>View & Autocomplete.
