Each time I go to preview a downloading file the whole Limewire programme just closes down.

Anyone know why this is?

Machine Type
Operating System
LimeWire Version
Java Version
HDD
RAM
etc.

I used to be able to preview files with no problem, but all of sudden it just closes the programme. I don't recall changing any settings.

Windows XP SP2

LimeWire 4.2.6 PRO

80GB HDD

512 RAM

Make a note of all your LW settings & close LW down. Then delete the LW preferences. Actually you can see some tips here: Fixes for Limewire

I have deleted that limewire folder, but still closes the programme when I preview a file.

1. What type of files are they you're trying to launch? I hope they're not wmv files.
2. Is it happening to all files or only just one format/type of file?
3. Which player are you using to open them?

I've just tried Mp3, mpg and wmv they all close the programme.. Like I said it was fine, until yesterday.. really strange.

Try each of the fixes (previous link) out one by one for LW including repair until one fixes it! They've worked for many other people.
Have you considered updating to the newest version 4.4.1?

I've tried all steps apart from updating Java.. It's taking ages to load as i'm downloading as it is. This is really strange.. very annoying as it was fine not so long ago.

Then wait until you have finished downlding & then close LW down. Then update your java.
