I am not sure if anyone has encountered same problem but I am at my wit's end with LW.
Whenever LW is running, my system comes to a virtual halt, running like an XT, constantly swapping to my HD. I cannot have any programs open as they run at a pathetic speed.

My specs:
Limewire v4.4.1
Win XP (SP2), 2 gig memory, SCSI Hard drives. P4@1.7.
Can anyone help.

Newest Java always helps LW speed up a bit. www.java.com
Also, what malware protection do you have? Spyware and the such can really slow down a Windows comp to a crawl.

Running Java 1.5. I . Run Adware every few days. I defrag drive once a month. Have virus protection. I tried just DLing a few files at a time which has helped a bit.

Hmmm just a thought. If you don't use iTunes try unchecking the box in LW tools>options>iTunes>sharing ---- Share my music.

If you do use iTunes try checking the box ---- Compatabilty Mode
