Hi all, I have a few questions.
1) Just got ver. 4.6 and now I'm getting pop ups to get ver.4.8. 4.6 works great. Do I really need 4.8??

2) I have the free version. Last night I hit Turbo. I thought Turbo speed was for the paid version.

3) Can someone tell me what normal dowloads speeds are using a dial-up/modem connection?

4) Would I get faster downloads speeds if I got a faster CPU/more memory?

Currently have Win 98SE,400Mhz PII, 128 Mb memory. Getting 1-2 kps with 4 simultanious downloads. 5-6 kps with one download. Have opportunity to get a 866 PIII with 256Mb memory. Will this help?

1. Stick with the version you're happy with. But a new update is apparently coming out tomorrow which has a security update which is well worth thinking about.
2. Pro gives you consistent turbo b/c it connects to 5 Ultrapeers where as LW Basic only connects to 3.
3. Average 56 kbps dial up = 7 KB/s - overhead (about 2 KB/s) = 5 KB/s
4. No. Only if you get super-dial up which some isp providers offer or you use broadband or cable.
5. 256 MB RAM is a little small nowadays, you should be looking at 512 MB at least. A faster cpu won't hurt you.
