Limewire causes shutdown problems

Hey guys, I am using the lastest version of limewire pro, my connection is dsl, using a D-link dsl-200 usb modem. I have no problems until i shutdown lime wire. After shutdown i am unable to disconnect my dsl connection and when i go to shutdown my pc it freezes in the shutdown procedure. This only happens after using limewire. Any suggestions?????
