Good job on the added info, but how often do you use the "normal" system. Is there a chance that the different file sizes are a result of user settings being saved?

No worries. Even though my problem is resolved, I'll try to stay in touch with any other posts that'll appear here. I'm glad to see 250+ views of this thread, so there must be others with similar problems.

Please post here if you do come across this same problem, and tell us how you go.

Default How to rid c:\uploads virus

I got this virus also and it plagued me for days. I also run Symantec Antivirus 2005 and it was so bad it was clogging that up and making it not work. I use Win XP...the only was I was able to get rid of this completely was to go to Start, Click on Run, and Type c:\uploads. When you get in here, click on tools up at the top and then Folder Options, then View. Find the folder that says hidden files and folders and make sure SHOW hidden files and folders is checked. I had 4 folders in here full of those nasty zip files. I deleted all four folders and then I went back and deleted the upload folder. I then restarted and reran my virus software! I have been problem free for a few days now. I hope this helps someone else.
