GOT it! The way I fixed it was to download the virus protection from AVG.com. It's totally free, and appears to have gotten it all. Ctl-Alt-Del now brings up the task manager. I haven't reinstalled LW yet, I'm still a little gun shy...

See, what i told ya, AVG is totally free, and gets every stuff you have on your Pc man, it's great, you should did it when i tolled ya

Help please I am following your instructions to correct my problem with limewire but I went to c:\windows\ but there is no system32 folder I have check them all and I can't find it please help!!!

Go to the Tools menu in Explorer, then Folder Options, then select the View tab
and set it to show hidden files and to NOT hide protected operating system files.

Limewire won`t recognize my username...It won`t post
any selections of my search either.. syskopike.

Hi. Limewire won`t recognize my username... I`m using the 4.12 pro version... Thusly, I can`t do any music searches... Or downloads!! syskopike....

Help With Lime Wire Poping up all the time
 

i un-installed limewire and it is still poping up
and i dont think i use limewire often enough to keep it on my comp and even though i deleated it i had a problem with all the files saying corupt from transfer and turning in to zip files this happened every time i restarted my computer

If LW pops up all the time, it's usually because of a worm. Try the fix here, it's worked for a lot of people.

Files turning into zip files is also usually due to a worm (different worm to the one that causes the popping up thing). People have found that AVG free AV has been able to fix this problem for them. Download AVG free. Update it & scan your computer. See if it finds a worm (Delf.ATB);)

lime wire is pissing me off everytime i shut it down it reopens it self within 30 seconds not even somttimes and it makes it hard to play games and what not i have set it to no connect right away that didnt work and the last time i tried uninstalling it i kept getting a popup message from java telling me that a file is corupted and i need to reinstall limewire this is getting really ****ing annoying

It's also really fu**ing annoying that people don't bother to read the last post in the thread they are posting in.
