PLEASE HELP. Limewire broken on Win XP

So I was working on a girlfriend of mines laptop and her limewire will not work. I am a computer consultant and felt like a total moron when I was unable to fix it for her. Her toshiba came with limewire installed and java. It worked fine until she tried to install a program called 'Pogo' which lets you play online games. Well I'm not sure as to what happened, but what I do know is java is installed (i uninstalled and reinstalled it), also i've done the same thing with Limewire. When you double click limewire, it does not run, it doesn't show up in the task manager, and it gives no errors. If anyone could please help me by providing information which might help me fix this problem for her, and save me from the embarassment of not being able to fix this, i would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same problem as you, although I never installed pogo. My Limewire just never opens when you double click on it. It's really frustrating because I had the same problem with kazaa and the only way to fix it was to reformat.

have you guys run virus scans??? by the way uninstall pogo i had it for a while and found that it was a MAJOR source of spyware that was loaded onto my system. It pulled up porn and all kinds of junk so its my advice to DUMP IT!!!

Have you tried reinstalling limewire???

I didn't format her drive. I did uninstall and reinstall limewire. pogo is deleted. i did a virus scan, no virii. i also ran adaware, all adware is now gone. when you double click limewire, nothing happens, it doesn't run, nothing in the task manager. no errors. please help me fix this girls pc if anyone can. thanks

try going to the install directory for limewire (i.e. c:/program files/limwire) and clicking on the original icon and not the shortcut that installation placed on the desktop
