I know what you mean. In which way is my answer unclear to you? Both versions are completely legal and it is not legal to download copyrighted content with either of them.

good question. If you are using the latest beta, LimeWire will show in one of the columns of the result table whether a file has been licensed under a 'creative commons' license or a 'weed' license. It's always legal to download any of those.

A comment that I would like to add is that the laws regarding copyright infringement differ greatly from one country to another...

In most, but not all, DownLoading is legal but UpLoading is NOT !

I'm not an idiot...but reading the e-mails I got after visiting the sight I didn't get that we still have to find non copyrighted material to download. I was amazed and ecstatic that a membership bought me access to my fave songs. And as it turns out...I'm not getting what I thought I was. I'm a little upset. Mostly at myself. I googled the site and found nothing negative, which is rare. I want to bang my head against the wall though.
