this is getting very rediculous, ive had to reformat my software (not destructive) because of this it got stuck and i had to do a cold shut down. when i booted up again all i got was that there was an error shutting down. it gave me some options, i tried all of them and nothing. so finally i was left with no choice but to reformat. and its starting again. just yesterday it happened again and i got all these weird looking blocks on my screen. wth i guess im just gonna get rid of this thing its not even working anymore anyway. and no help to top it off LOL wow this blows

It might be a graphics card issue; see General Windows sticky & check the blank screen issue. Else try the Beta LW 4.9.1

It might be a codec issue. Free-Codecs.com

Try a different player such as VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (choose nearest mirror site) & if it doesn't occur with VLC then it looks like a WMP issue. VLC makes a good backup player anyway b/c it has its own internal codecs. Here's what it can play http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

how do i make it so that when i want to preview the video it opens this player instead of the wmp?
