Every time I use LimeWire 4.8.1 it winds up locking up or suffering from severe slow downs. I have 512MB of memory, and am running Windows XP Home, and have tried to run it with no other applications, but the same problem persists. I have about 15,000 shared files, could that be the problem, the rest of the settings are default, except the shared folder location. Any body have any ideas?

How many files does it say you are sharing down at the bottom. What I mean is have they all loaded or does it say something like 1000/1500

update to the new beta version 4.9.16, it fixes problems with the large librarys.

another way to fix this problem without updating would be to disable itunes support in limewire by going to:

tools > options > itunes > sharing and untick share my music.

the newest beta version supposedly fixes it. i havent tested it yet though.

but anyways, welcome to the large filesharers club!! i have just alittle over 14k but i normally share around 10k.. we need more people like you!
