Freezing I use lime wire on my laptop but after about 5 minuits of it running my computer freezes. I have tried everything to stop it. I use both my anti spyware software programmes and my A.V programme but they come up with nothing significant. My CPU when using limewire is up and down but averages at about 30 % so that cannot be the problem. Have tried limiting my down and uploads at 1 but still happens. I have a 2 year old laptop with 1.7 processor, 512mb ram, and windows xp home OS. Any ideas on what i can do? Thanks J |
I'm having this problem too but only when I download certain songs. My fiance has the exact same program on his desktop and when he downloads a corrupted file it has a message that pops up but it doesn't freeze. My laptop doesn't even give me any warning it just freezes and I can't even ctl-alt-del. laptop was bought in Feb 2004. dell xp home edition intel celeron 2.4 GHz 256 MB of RAM |
Both of you could take a look at this thread, the solution for your problem might be there: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...hlight=freezes Another thread refering to this problem would be this one (look at the links of the third post of LOTR): http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...mputer+freezes http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
Try disabling ultrapeer capabilities (tools > options > speed). Also try reducing the number of simultaneous downloads. You could also try reducing your upload & download bandwidth a little bit. |
Freezing Hi, thank you for your help. I tried both deleting the .limewire file and messing with the controls but it's still freezing. It doesn't happen with all songs just some. Oh well, thanks anyways.:o |
