Default Updating Limewire

I was wondering what happens when i update limewire to 4.9. Will there be a fresh install and delete all my previous downloads or when I update, only changes will be made to existing version.
Thank you.

All your configuration etc remain the same. The new version will take over as if nothing had happened. You may wish to save your old Limewire by saving it to disc or something, as it will be deleted otherwise and one or two people seem to be wishing they could go back

I must apologize for not mentioning that.

The fact is that I have never lost my incomplete downloads myself, but have in the past warned that this might happen. After assurances from others that it would not be a problem on updates, I have not mentioned it , but I will continue to warn that this is a possibility.

Sorry again.

Default Updates/Upgrades

Berserkmaster

To back up what Hobo has said, I have been using LWPro since version 4.0.5 and up to the current version 4.9.27 and I have never ever lost anything during my upgrade installations. All my incomplete, complete, settings, etc. have all remained the same and in place.

So unless you are extremely unlucky you have nothing to worry about or fear.
