Your Nero came with your PC so I guess it is probably Nero V6.x, I myself use Nero 5.5.
Nero should be able to convert your files from whatever they are to SVCD format with user intervention but, I believe, you have to tell Nero first of that you want to make an SVCD.
However, I have just read the following on the NERO web site: Quote:
To be able to burn video files and play them on any DVD player, the data must be DVD compatible in the appropriate MPEG format.
Encode your video files
with the aid of the following components:
MPEG-2/DVD Encoder/Decoder
MPEG-2/SVCD Encoder/Decoder
Dolby® Digital (AC-3) 2.0 Encoder/Decoder
Information
The DVD-Video Plug-in is already available in the Nero 6 Reloaded Retail Package and in the web version. If you are using a previous version or an OEM version without this plug-in, you need at least Nero 6.0.0.9 and NeroVision Express.
| Which means you will have to purchase the plug-in for $29.99 before you can burn SVCDs or DVDs.
