Default Just purchased PRO - Now it's been cancelled.

I bought PRO a few days ago using PayPal at the official LimeWire site.

I used it today and thought this looks strange - it's asking me to upgrade to PRO. How can I upgrade when I'm already supposed to have it.

I went to the support pages, typed in my email and got a page which told me my email was invalid.

I then went to the upgrades page and was told my account has been cancelled.

Why is this?

Did you receive your email from customer support with a link to your personal downld page?

How much did you pay for LW? LW costs US $18.88

Something about your post seems wrong because it reads like you went to a scam site and got conned and, because you are not getting any response from them, you have found your way here.

If I am right then it is time for a little education:

Every person that ever went to a scam site, and got ripped off (and there have been plenty probably numbering into the hundreds of thousands), thought they were buying LW Pro from the official site. Instead all they got for their money, from the scammers, was a URL link to LW Basic which is free (and freely available) from here:

http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

DJ, you have probably (more than likely) been ripped off by a scam site, specially set up to con people, because you thought you were dealing with a legitimate company, since the advert seemed so convincing. The scammers count on the fact that now you have LW Basic you will blame LW for your misfortune when in fact they, the scammers, have your money.

To confirm this, check your credit card statement to see where your money went and if you paid more that $18.88 then LW did not get your money the scammers did. That's why you can no longer contact them because all they want is your money.

You will need to contact your credit card company and tell them you have been the victim of fraud and, as most CCs have anti-fraud protection, you should get your money back.

Thank you for your reply posts.

The site I went to was: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/home.shtml

I then followed the "Get It Now" link to: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

Then I clicked on "Get PRO" : http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...stionpro.shtml

I then came to a question page concerning infringement/copyright etc. I checked the appropriate buttons and was forwarded to the following secure page: https://www.limewire.com/sales/engli...ms/buypro.html

Because I am in Australia I used PayPal as my payment option.
I paid $18.88 using my balance. The payment was made to: Name:
Lime Wire LLC (The recipient of this payment is Verified)
Email:
contribution@limewire.com

I was then forwarded to my personal download page where I downloaded what I thought was PRO (I was sent to a page where I could access customer support etc) I then installed the Java Update etc... I then installed LimeWire on my PC and left it for a few days until I went to use it.

When I tried to log into customer support it says my account was cancelled and my email address is invalid.

Now, please do not tell me I was duped.

Default Everything you did seems right

DJ

Sorry, I can't fault what you did because it seems you did everything right.

Try emailing this address:

service@limewire.com

You should get a response and, hopefully, get your problem sorted out.
