Default Transfer Limewire icon from one desktop to another

My husband has installed limewire, however, the icon only shows up on his destop when he is logged on. How can I get the icon on my desktop when I log on? I have gone into create shortcut from the desktop, but I cannot find limewire.exe only Stubinstaller.

I was trying to avoid downloading all over again and taking up space on our computer. Thanks for any help.

Make sure you're logged in as the admin. Then create a shortcut & copy it to your desktop folder; ie: use the search function & find desktop folder. There should be one for you & one for him. Your desktop folder will be under your account name in the directory. AFAIK this should work fine!

Thanks for the quick post... I did that and when I returned to my desktop and clicked on the new link, it began the "Limewire online installer"; complete that; asked for language. then began "Limewire 4.9.33 setup", after clicking "next" and "install" it got about halfway through when it gave me an error... "Error opening file for writing" c:/program files/limewire/genericwindowsutils.dll" All I can do is abort. Any suggestions?

Yes, it sounds to me like you accidentally made a shortcut to the installer & not the program that's already installed. Perhaps your husband should do this for you if he is the admin of the computer & LW is installed into his account. You should only need to set up your options when you open the shortcut ... not pre-installation options. When you open LW for the 1st time in your own user account, the choices made in options will be stored as your personal LW preferences in your user account folder. ie: you & your husband wll have separate LW preferences. And different downld location unless you choose to downld to a shared-common (with dual or all users permissions) folder.
