Well it's generally a hardware issue. Whether it be out of date drivers, incompatible components or drivers, heatsink or fan that isn't powerful enough, or bad ram, etc. See Limewire and Blue Screen of Death (click on link) for another area you might be able to look at which might be the actual problem. Whilst LW might be the catalyst to set this happening, it's not the underlying cause.

I have done some tests.
I have confermed that it is limewire in some way that is restarting my computer.

1. Lime wire is the only program that produces this problem.

2. Even with a reformated computer and only windows and lime wire installed, the problem is still their.

3. after all windows updates are installed, the problem is still their.

4. I have installed all divices and programs i have for my computer 1 at a time.
And between each install, I tested lime wire and the problem was their each and every time.

I have not yet found the cause of the problem though.
And it appears to be generated at random.
Seems to happon alot more when you download more then 5 files at a time.

There is a bug between Java & some graphic drivers. Have you looked into that option? The way to fix the Blank screen on startup, & also GeoForce 3D setting

LW itself does NOT restart your computer. There's obviously a clash somewhere. It might even be in your firmware version of router/modem or other component driver on your system. Are these up to date?

My drivers and firmware are always up to date.
I check for thouse each month.

You say LW itself does NOT restart your computer.

Then explaine why only when LW is running, it happons.

I can run other java baced programs and not have this problem, so that rules out the clash between java and graphic drivers.

I know it's not designed to do this, but there is defenetly something wrong with LW that is the direct cause of the computer restart.

My computer does not restart itself ever unless I have LW running.

And as an added note, LW is now the direct cause of all the files in 1 folder to become corupt.

I was playing a video file in WMP at the time of the restart.
Now all files that where in the same folder as that video file are now bad and will have to be restored.

LW did not corupt them, the restart did.
LW is the direct cause of the restart though, that is why i said it is the direct cause of the coruption.

LW is over 90% designed with Java. I know it's difficult for you to understand, but LW is acting as the catalyst but is not the underlying problem. The problem is hidden somewhere else. It's just due to the at times intense resouces LW needs that it brings that problem to the fore from wherever it's hiding.

If this was a bug with LW, then 20 million other windows users would suffer the same problem.

I don't know your system & what components, brands & models of hardware & firmware, or what programs you have installed, or what programs you have had installed but still have remnants of their existence still remaining in your registry, etc.

As you'll see from the very 1st link I gave you, there's plenty of links discussing this type of issue due to a no. of reasons. It's something windows machines tend to suffer if there's a component, be it a driver or hardware or graphic settings or whatever that is not compatible.

Perhaps you should try Frostwire or Phex instead.
