I installed LimeWire using my Administrator account on XP and it runs great. But if i log in under a limited account (not as Administrator) i dont have LimeWire in the start menu or on the desktop.
If i copy the shortcut from the Administrators account onto the limited account i am prompted to install LimeWire. If i am in the limited account and go to Program Files\LimeWire and try and run the program from there, again it prompts me to install the application. How can i get LimeWire onto my Limited account without having to install it again? I dont want seperate LimeWire programs in my Administrator and Limited accounts. Thanks for your help! |

You "should" be able to do what you tried. But instead of copy the shortcut, create a fresh one from the program & send it to the desktop folder & perhaps also the Start menu for the other user account.
Failing this, I 'think' you can adjust ownership/permissions of programs in one of the control panels. I'm not a windows whiz unfortunately. You can certainly create a free zone for all users via control panels. |
