For the past couple of days, when I log into Limewire I get in then it suddenly freezes!

(you'll have to reset your preferences in tools > options afterwards. If you're not sure of your settings, go through & make a note of them first)

If this doesn't help, uninstall your Java & reinstall using the link to offline installer in the above thread. Or you can try the new JRE beta

ummm, when i try installing the Java program i get this error on my window installer saying "The Windows Installer Service cannot be accessed"

Did you use the Add/Remove Programs Control panel? If yes, close down all programs that might be using Java such as your browser. Or even rebooting might do the trick. I presume you're logged in with admin permissions.
