Okay guys, I've run into a brick wall! LimeWire has been crashing on me everytime I try to start the application. I get the little LW box on my screen, but everything stops at "Loading User Interface". To stop this I open my Task Manager and kill the Process LimeWire.ext. If I'm real luck, I'll actually get into the program where the "Upgrad to Pro" window comes up, but it completely crashes after that. At this point, I can go into the Task Manager and terminate the application, both LimeWire and Java. I have spent the last few days trying all of the suggestions that are posted on this site (i.e. Uninstall and re-install J2SE, re-install LW, etc). I'm consumed by trying to get it to work, but to no avail....
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 with the standard video controller: Intel 82865 G Graphics Controller, and went to the Dell website to update my video driver. When doing this, the driver posted on Dell was an older version than what I had on my computer (don't know how?), but figured that at this point, it was worth the shot. No luck.... Someone had mentioned (in reference to a different thread), that it could be caused by an old system? But my computer is relatively new: P4 2.80 GHz, 512 MB RAM, 80GB HD with Windows XP - Service Pack 2. So I'm guessing that this is sufficient for LimeWire. The only thing I've seen posted that I haven't tried yet has been to chane my AA & AF settings? I don't know what these are or where to chang them. At this point, any help or suggestion that someone could provide would be greatly appreciated! I'm not quite sure what to do now? Please help... |

hey man.
this exact thing is happening to me. i can't get past the "Loading User Interface." sometimes, like, once out of ten, i'll get to "loading download window" or something. i don't get it though, my limewire worked PERFECTLY like a week or two ago. then all of a sudden, this happens. i really hope someone knows how to fix it. |

Try re-installing Limewire.
