| Hi.. can someone please help me out. I've tried downloading limewire several times, but it wont install properly. I have windows ME (Millenium Edition) which i belive is the cause of the problem. what can i do?? Any help appreciated **** Sorry for safety reasons we don't allow email addys in public posts. | 1. Use your Add/Remove control panel & remove all Java versions. Then reinstall Java using only the "Offline" Java version here which is a 15 MB downld: Java 1.5 (take the JRE) 2. Download only the "Offline" LimeWire installer from here: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml 3. Make sure any firewalls you have are configured to allow LW full access. Only have one active firewall! Firewall configuration instructions (click on link). Also if you have a high speed modem/router which might have an internal NAT firewall, then you will need to port forward. Find your model here to see http://portforward.com/routers.htm In fact, I would recommend doing 3. (setting firewall) 1st, then 1. (Java) & then install Limewire last! |
