I have a song in LimeWire and I don't know how to share or send it to my iTunes library??? Any advice?

I'm having the same problem... only, I think I know what is going on (and I don't know how to fix it):

When I run a search on Limewire, 99% of the time the file type that shows up is "MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3". When I double-click files of this type, I can hear them on the Limewire Player, but they are not automatically transferred over to my ITunes library. If however, the file is of the type, "MPEG 4 Audio", when I double-click it the file will play and is automatically tranferred over to ITunes (and can then be subsequently put onto my IPod).

How do you "instruct" Limewire to always download files as MPEG 4 Audio? I have used Limewire at friends houses, run the same searches, and the same files end up in their libraries as this file type.

hey can anyone answer my question...

i have only just started using LW and I can transfer music to iTunes from LW etc...BUT when i open iTunes now there is a playlist which appears on the left called "Jay's Limewire Tunes." i DON'T want this playlist in iTunes because it doesn't seem to do anything and it constantly says it's "Loading..."

does anyone now how to get rid of this playlist??

Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>iTunes>Sharing & disable sharing options. The other way is to go to iTunes preferences, (Edit menu) & select Sharing option & disable option.

BTW Jay's Limewire Tunes is what music you have downlded & is still in your LW downld folder. This playlist could potentially be shared over a LAN/WAN such as with family or work-mates depending upon where you are. I also disabled it because it drove my partner crazy with my playlist showing up on her computer in iTunes.
