Hi

I have file which I downloaded using LW, and the end of the file name appears in the 'title'...It wont play in either Realone or Windows Media and removing one of the 'avi' also does not assist the situation.

I was originally advised to ensure my quicktime player was up to date and it was, as it could be the codecs involved.
No luck.

Does anyone know how to handle this?

Try VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) as it has in-built codecs & is generally very reliable. Try it out & see how you go.

I am using windows xp, I live in the usa, which down load location would be best to use.
I my windows media player even with update codec won't work when i check it says it will play avi. and mov types but it doesn't
Also I want to use windows media player to listen to my music but Lime wire is down loading with a purple icon out to the side of it for music match of something like that, How do I change my default player to what I want it to play in. Thanks

Choose any mirror site. Usually best to choose the nearest. I chose france yet it's over the opposite side of the planet.

I am having trouble with this sites (the one you recommended) links, it was also recommended by another forum user to address another LW problem.

No matter which link I use, it downloads a 1kb zip or non-zipped file...and of course it doesnt work. A warning pops up about a 16 bit ms-dos subsystem error...'the ntvdm cpu has encountered an illegal instruction.
any ideas would be appreciated.
