I've had limewire basic for years now, and recently I got the grey screen that has been occuring with others. Since I took advice from someone who didnt know what he was talking about, I also deleted all my properties for Limewire. So I dont even get to the main screen of Limewire, the furthest I get is the language setup.
The other fixes I've been trying on the forums haven't worked either, and I was wondering if anyone had an idea.
From the sound of things it seems like the problem has been occuring with AVI or NVIDIA graphics card.

I have a VIA/S3G UniChrome IGP graphics card

And i dont know anything about computers, so if you can help me... please do everything step by step.

By "deleted all my properties from LW", do you mean you deleted the preferences folder? That won't do any harm... it's often a fix for all sorts of problems!

Since you're not saying what other fixes you have tried, look through these & ignore whatever you've tried before (makes it really hard to help if people aren't a bit specific)

Have you tried removing your old Java version & updating Java with the offline installer?
