Avex9R is flying high
Default video file won't play

i downloaded a video file (mpeg) and tried to play it. the picture doesn't show in windows media player, but the audio comes through. what should i do?

You probably need to download the right codecs to play that file. XP Codec Pack 1.3.0 is supposed to be a good one for WMP.

You could also d/l another media player. VLC media player is a good one that has the codecs built in and will play most file types.

I cannot play anything but mpg files which really limits me. I did click on the link recommended is it safe because my computer says publisher not identified, I get easily scared downloading

Which one are you refering to? VLC has apparently been falsely identified by some AV programs at the download point. But VLC is clean. We wouldn't recommend it otherwise.
