Problems since upgrade to 4.12

I recently upgraded to 4.12 from 4.10 and since then I keep getting Security Alerts from Norton (2005) saying the Internet Worm Protection has detected that a remote sytemis attempting to access my computer. I keep clicking Permit but another one pops up. The Remote address and Remote Port are different each time.
I have customized Norton to permit all access form limewire in my Norton Program Control.
I have a wall in front of my Globe on Limewire if that is relevant.
Do I need to have my Windows Firewall on aswell.
Please help.

I never got these alerts with 4.10 and I haven't changed any Firewall settings since then. The wall was infront of the globe with 4.10:confused:

I'm not sure, but try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) & also delete your previous Norton settings & reset the configurations of them whilst this version is on your computer.

Yeah, that happened to me, too. There's a mysterious file named _ that has the virus.

What did you do to fix it?

NeuroticYours July 19th, 2006 01:10 PM

I just uninstalled it cause you can't delete the file.

Did Limewire work ok when you reinstalled it?

See NorbiesWorld (click on link) & register there & he will help you to solve the problems. ie: eradicate the virii & get your system back to normal. He is offline at present but register there & follow his directions carefully & he will give you accurate directions.

If you can't find a folder called .limewire then see step 3 in those directions & look for limewire in the "hidden" folder called Application Data

Nope, did the exact same thing. LimeWire might need to fix it.
