Default Audio scrambled when Limewire is running

Ok, I have used Limewire for a couple of years now and have never had any issue with it. But for some reason today, I was listening to music in my Winamp and I started Limewire and Winamp started having fits. The music started popping and sounding distorted. I rebooted and tried the music again. Still distorted. Tried streaming music in Winamp. Still distorted. I tried watching a movie in Winamp, the sound played distorted and the picture was frozen. I tried in Windows Media Player. The music was the same popping and distorted. The video lagged my computer up and played at a very slow speed. When I close Limewire everything is perfect. Anyone have any ideas? I've checked updates, drivers and other than installing the latest Limewire hoping it would fix this problem; I haven't installed anything in the last month. I am at wits end with this. I find it rather irritating.

One of you vampire-ninja-assassin computer gurus needs to fix me poor paputer.

Sounds to me like LW is using too much resources. If you keep your shares & especially your incomplete files under control then this will help dramatically. See Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! & although that was written for mac users, it also applies to windows users.

Also not using the Resume/Find Sources on all your files will make a great difference. Just apply it to 2-3 at a time.
