![]() Hi Guys. ![]() Am I the unluckiest person to use Limewire? Here's my record, one download one problem that won't go away. Here's what happened. I installed the free version of Limewire and being a fan of homemade pics I searched for images with the keywords amateur wives. As I was new to the program I thought I couldn't go far wrong downloading jpgs. What do I know? ![]() I downloaded the first jpg in the search window and double clicked on it to view. The windows image viewer popped up with the message no preview available. Waste of time I thought and went to delete it. I right clicked but half the usual options like delete, cut, rename and properties weren't there. I highlighted it and tried the delete on the keyboard, nothing happened. Since then I have tried everything I can think of. Including trying to delete in safe mode, running 1/2 a dozen spyware programs like Panda, Ad-Aware, Ewido, AVG anti-virus, HiJack This, KillBox, CCleaner, CWshredder........ the list goes on. Nothing will shift it. It's on my desktop and while you can drag it round the screen it can't be dropped into the recycle bin or even a new folder. It has the regular image icon and although as I say properties is not available for it when you hover the mouse over it it gives the file name, which is 221 characters long! and it says image file 290 kb. It seems such a distinctive problem that surely someone has come across this. Any ideas that might help please? |

![]() Try one of the utilities listed below http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...35&postcount=2 (I've used Unlocker & Delivfile, they both worked) ![]() |

![]() Hey Chris I downloaded one of those annoying jpg files a few weeks back, I found that I could not delete it using windows explorer or any other windows facility. So, I reckoned, that since I downloaded it via LW I would used LW own delete facility to get rid of it, i.e. I went into LWs library, highlighted the offending file and pressed the delete button at the bottom of LWs library screen. Result, exit forever pesky, non-opening, silly long-named jpg file. UK Bob |

![]() Hi Bob. ![]() That sounds like the answer. The only drawback is I'll have to re-install Limewire as I immmediately uninstalled it after getting the corrupt file and I've been put off p2p because of this experience. ![]() I'll let you know the result. |

![]() WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!! ![]() Many thanks to everyone for taking the time to help me. Bob, I think yours would have worked if I hadn't uninstalled Limewire. Birdy, your links cracked it! I downloaded and used DelinvFile. Whacked it easy. ![]() Very impressive utility after all the stuff I've tried. I love it when things work. ![]() |
