Every time i open limewire, it will start the old downloads, but shortly after it freezes up my entire computer and i have to do a hard restart i think it's called... i don't know why it is doing this, and I have tried different versions of it to no avail... HELP!!!! This is getting really annoying!!

wow....... nobody knows??? this is pretty bad that the ******* makers of limewire don't even know what is wrong!!!!

A qualified guess though would be that you have A LOT of incomplete files. Try cancelling all downoads and then (after closing Limewire completely) delete your incomplete folder. Limewire will create a new one on next startup.

If not then you will have to provide more info on your setup.

BTW Defragmenting could help as well. Also reinstalling Java

Maybe deleting your preference folder will help. (Note: This will delete all settings in Limewire. You will have to set up everything in it from scratch.)

I don't have Java!!! Could that be the problem???

You have to have Java since Limewire uses and is programmed using the Java programming language.
