Default firewall(s)

Is there a way of finding out how many firewalls and where they are. I have tried a lot of suggestions that thave been posted and still cannot seem to download or the downloads are slow. I disabled the windows firewall and restarted and the firewall icon in LW is still there.

Post the details of your set-up so we have an idea what's going on. See: System details - help us to help you.

Check these links for more info on firewalls. Your modem/router probably has a nat firewall in it.

Yes. If they support UPnP that is the desired way to go. If not then you'll probably need to setup port forwarding for them.

Can you give the model numbers for your router and modem e.g. Belkin F1PI-241EGau, Motorola BR700?
