I would like to know if anyone can tell me why all of a sudden my limewire basic auto connects to the internet. At first it it would connect when I chose but I tried to download a couple of random "programs" and now it autoconnects. Can this be fixed?

Do you mean that LW keeps opening & refusing to stay closed? Or is it actually downloading things at random, when you haven't chosen to download anything?

It's a brand new computer. Yes exactly, What happens is I shut down the LW and it just restarts but it's not downloading. If I had pending items I'm sure it would.... I think it may have installed something to keep it running at a constant...

You have a virus. Probably from downloading programs & not scanning the files with your AV before opening them. Program files are often infected. See the sticky below

Try the easy fix mentioned at the end of point 2, it's worked for a lot of people. Otherwise, see point 5 for links to help sites. Norbiesworld is a good one & has helped a lot of LW users.

Always make sure that you're using a good AV. Keep it updated & scan downloaded files before opening them.
