i tried posting on the audacity forum but got no replies. so i tried to import an audio file (MP3) from limewire into audacity to convert it to wav and a message pops up and says that it cant be imported because it contains links to other files and that i could use a text editor to download the actual files. can anyone help me with this?
Thx in advance.

Sounds like a dodgie file to me (links) sounds dangerous.
Any action you want to perform should be done from the windows folder not inside L/W Library, Highlight the file in library and press explore bottom left thats the download folder on your computer, Work from there. Oh! dont forget to check all files you download with A V program. Peace.

OK
With limeWire open, at the top of the page click on the Library Tab then highlight the file you wish to convert, Look down bottom left corner of L/W page Press Explore, That should take you to Windows Folder on your computer, outside of L/W. Work from there. Why would you want a text editor for a MP3 music file, its not TEXT unless its a fake or something even more nasty Sorry ive got flue is that better my heads thick. Peace.
