Default Corrupted Share Folder

Straight to the pt. I have a corrupt folder ...It was my shared folder I used with limewire and I believe my hubby downloaded something bad that has corrupted the entire folder...

I can't run defrag and some other programs on my pc because of this folder....when it's clicked on or accessed in any way it closes down the program being used...even explorer when I try to delete it.

My questions is what can I do to fix and get rid of this folder? I don't know anything about dealing with this kind of situation...

Thanks for any help

Summer

If you can remember at all what it was he downloaded, more than likely it's a movie file, try deleting it from your limewire library folder...
Otherwise you will have to get the code number from the error report and search it on your computer and delete it from there (this is hard as it can take awhile to figure which code is the right code)...

well, the problem is that i can not access LW or several other programs that call upon the 'shared folder' when opened. LW shuts down and I receive an explorer error.

I need to get rid of the shared folder. But I am unable to delete or open it. Every time I attempt to open the folder . . .it hangs and then shuts down.

Does anyone know how to purge a shared folder from Windows XP?

I've been looking all over the internet for an answer.

This doesn't sound to good ....Maybe you should run an AV and Spyware scan to start with and then post a Highjack this log at one of these sites...

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php

I have had the shared folder giving me the error message, but never LW and if you cannot run a defrag and your IE crashes, there has to be something a bit more complicated involved...
The sites I have recommended are mannned by experts, so give them ago...

Please let us know how you get on....

Ouch that isn't good at all....I would definatley do a Highjack this log and go to one of the above listed sites and get some help...

That would be the safest thing to do as those guys know their stuff...
