Alexy is flying high
Unhappy I'm lost.

Okay, I still have a problem.

The first time I was trying to uninstall LimeWire, was because it would never open. I'd double-click it, and nothing would pop up.
I went to search, like you told me to,because it wouldn't let me uninstall LW, and there are a couple of files That I'm not able to delete. A window just pops up, saying that the program is being used by some other person or program.
When I thought I got rid of everything, I went to download limewire, but a couple days later, same problem appears. It doesn't open. This time I was able to uninstall it. But when I went to search, it still finds results when I type in LimeWire. And the same files can't be deleted, and a window pops up, saying that's it's being used by another person or program. I'm lost.
I just want to get rid of LimeWire and not downloaded again. I'm quite tired of having problems with it.

Alexy Hi.
It sounds like you still have L/W running in tray, when you try to uninstall.
Check task manager to see if its running, if so, end L/W process then try.
You have not said, Have you tried Reboot in safe mode to Delete ?

Where did you uninstall L/W from. ?
So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions.
Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs.

What are the names of the files you cannot delete ?

Are there other accounts on your computer using L/W ?

Who is your ISP ?

Do you have L/W set to run when windows starts ?

Peace.

I checked on Task Manager, but I didn't find anything.
So, I went to My Computer, Program Files. I tried deleting the LW folder, but it didn't let me. I tried a different way. I opened the LW folder, and one,by one, I deleted all of it's content. I was able to delete everything, and then I just deleted the empty LW Folder. I went to My Recycle bin, and emptied it out.
Just to make sure, I went to Search, and typed in limewire. It didn't find anything. I restarted my computer, and searched again, and still, it finds nothing.
Does that mean I got rid of it?

You Say!!
"Just to make sure, I went to Search, and typed in limewire. It didn't find anything. I restarted my computer, and searched again, and still, it finds nothing.

There will still be BITS left if you haven't uninstalled correctly.

Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/
& make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked)
Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search.
Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything)
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.
That should clear it.
Peace.

Alexy Hi

"Sorry, this might sound really stupid, but how do you re-boot?"
No Alexy It just means your very new to this computer stuff.

To Re Boot in Safe Mode.

Right click on task bar, choose Task Manager,Shut down/Restart
If Task Manager does not start up, Hold down Alt & Ctrl & press Delete on your Keyboard.
Your computer will now Reboot!! AS it starts to fire up again,Hold down F8,on your Keyboard.
You should hear some little clicking, then the screen should go black with white lettering.
Use the Arrow keys, (Up) to highlight "Safe Mode"(mouse will not work).
Press Enter then Enter,Windows Login screen should come up, Click on your user name.
A warning box comes up, You are entering safe mode, Click YES.
You are now in safe mode.
Go, Start/Search
Peace.
