Help! I have been using Limewire basic for quiet sometime now, and this is the first time I have ever encountered a problem. The program will not open at all. This has been going on for 3 days. I click on the icon and nothing happens. I just un-installed and re-installed the program... Still... Nothing. I have no clue what the problem could be. Also... I have checked firewall settings. Thats not the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Try the options here Fixes for Limewire. That includes removing all versions of Java you have, then reinstalling as prescribed.

try this. go to my computer and double click on harddrive and open program files. Open limewire file. double click on limewire executable jar file.

limewire should now open. You should get a security alert "java tm platform se binary has blocked certain aspects of limewire" (something like that) just click on unblock. If your problem was the same as mine, your problems should now be solved. If you don't a security message, don't worry about it...because the java tm might not be the reason lw won't open since it was just blocking certain aspects of lw.

the jar file i am referring to is between two green lw icons if you are using

lw pro..jar file has about 7007 kb. unfortunately if you close lw out of your tool bar you might have to start lw this way each time you use it. I do not know how fix this problem other than this. i do not want to uninstall all my java files at this time.

my limewire doesnt open at all(i click on the programe and it doesnt come up on the screen) ive tried re_installing the programe which didnt work, ive joined and it still doesnt open, help me please....its urgent.. thx

Have you just updated java to JRE 1.6u1

ive gone through that and it wont let me open the limewire executable jar file. it wont let me open any of limewires files, what shud i do?

What version of java do you have installed ?

Go to Add n remove programs & version should be there

if you open your hard drive (c) after going "my computer" and open the file "program files" you should see limewire file: just double click on this.

darn it should open. Then just find the executible jar file. On limewire pro it is between the 2 green lw "circles" icons, about 7007 kb in content. Then just double click on this executible jar file. It should by-pass the problem and the limewire client should open.
