I'd say the initial problem was with your Java version, it was a bit old...
Go to your Add/remove programs and uninstall the current Java you are using...

When you said that you uninstalled limewire did you do it from the add/remove programs ??
Limewire should always be uninstalled using the uninstaller you will find this by going to Start > All Programs > Limewire...So try this...

Then you can try to install limewire again, use the offline installer not the recommended one....
