What version of LW are you both using at the moment ??

I'm using the newest one upgraded from the version before that which also did the same thing (same problem)

The last time that happened i just updated LW and it worked for awhile

When you deleted the preference folders, did you delete both the .limewire and the LimeWire folders ??

1. Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
2. Windows firewall
3. 222MB RAM
4. 6.15 GB free of 37.2 total GB hard disk space
5. like a T1
6. modem (Connects using: Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Et)
7. connecting from college (has worked before, still works for other people)
8. The latest Limewire version and Java Runtime 6 update 2, had (6,1) and (5,11)
9. suddenlink -I think (ISP)
10. Your test worked!!
11. no, I do use Bit-torrent but it's never on or up the same time as LW
12. new problem for experienced user- had LW for at least 3 years
13. not sure, I think Yes- but it's hard to tell when it's open for 5 secs
14. not using a router or sharing with anyone
15. AVG free edition
16. USA- Arkansas

Can you just check and see if Bit-Torrent is conncting and downloading fine for me...;)

Firewall: Avira Firewall (tried with it on/off and with allowing limewire/java and more)
RAM: 480 Mb (very old computer)
Diskspace Available: 14.9 Gb
Connection: Broadband
Router/Modem: Verizon 327w
Where: Home
Limewire: 4.14.6 Pro (tried others)
Java: Update 2 (Tried a lot of others)
My Test Worked!
No sharing
New problem with experienced user
Yes, brickwall
Portforwarded, and also tried Upnp enabled
Avira Profesional Suite with windows firewall off
USA

And also I tried everything above many times
Worked fine last week, works on other users, I also noticed than for everytime i try to open Limewire, this comes up in the Limewire directory

oh yea, I also use a torrent client, but not at the same time. I just tried uninstalling it and tried Limewire, didnt work still. Its utorrent by the way.
