Default Limewire and Norton

Hi there! Not sure if anyone can help. I'm running Windows XP SP2, Limewire 4.14.8 and I have Norton Anivirus. Whenever I run Limewire I get pop up box after pop up box throughout the session from Norton asking if it's okay for Limewire to connect outside the network. I'm at home using cable modem. These popups start when I bring it up and continue throughout. I have a rule in Norton to allow Limewire through but it keeps asking again and again. Almost like everytime it connects to a new peer it asks or something. Can anyone help me...it is SO annoying. I usually download a few small files and have to stop because I've had to say okay to Norton pop-up several hundred times...Thx, Larry

When you see the Norton pop-up box it will ask you three questions, summarised as follows:

a) Do not allow this app to access the internet.

b) Allow this app to access the internet (once only).

c) Always allow this app to access the internet.

It seems that you are choosing option b) or whatever your version of Norton's says.

I also have the feeling you may have Norton Internet Security, which is an anti-virus and personal firewall, rather than just Norton Anti-Virus.

well, I admit I am still using a 'modified' version of 2003 (updated to current specs I assure you), but the notices I get sometimes have the always allow option, and other times have just permit or block with a box in the lower left corner that says always...check the box..

Actually I should clarify. The Norton pop-up is regarding Internet Worm Protection and my only options are Block or Permit. It says a remote computer is attempting to access (duh!). There is nothing else. I only have Norton Anti-Virus. There is no check box for all. I went through my rules and Norton has Limewire as Permit All but this continues to happen.

Sorry if this doesn't help (I don't use Norton), but check out post #6 of this thread.
