I had messages pop up on my computer a few days ago that there was an available update for limewire but wasn't able to update it at the time. Now I want to update it, but the messages don't come up anymore. What should I do?

I clicked the link to update, which showed to download limewire (basic) ... will this replace my previous version and delete my songs?

It will replace your previous version of limewire but it won't replace your files. They'll still be there. If you have the Pro version, get the update from your Pro download page.
