Default Limewire Begins to Load, but freezes

Limewire installs great on ma new vista lappy, and originally worked!

Yet, Loaded up computer today and at the small loading window, it freezes at "12% Loading HTML engine". Dunno if its a firewall or w.e, ive tried reinstallin etc nothin works. Tbf vista is overrated, cant actually use half the typical programs of windows neway. Winrar for eg, just fails miserably lol.

get back to me please, ty.

I'm having the same problem with XP, so I don't think it's Vista. I got an update for Java today, would that have anything to do with my problems?

yh m8 go down to the vista support subforum (one below windows supprt)
and ull see it ther. but i solved it not by that, but instead of downloading thru firefox, ie and then disabled ma firewall for it. and put full allowance for limewire, seemed to do the trick. but read the forum =]

ive got anew problem now lool, whether its at virus thingy; but limewire continiously trys to reopen and whenever i click on options the screen just ocmes up and disappears straight away... rand as rand man.

I got it to work by going to setting on Norton, and stopping auto-protect.

Sean,
Sounds like you may have contracted a Virus. See Link below.

To fix the limewire keeps popping up / no taskmanager bug do the following.

I have read that Brut Force Uninstaller might not be fixing this problem anymore, so I will also recommend this.

This is probably one of the best help Forums for Malware I've found. Just another suggestion.

Malware Removal - MajorGeeks Support Forums.

Good Luck!!
