I click on the limewire icon and it does not start.

it does NOT work I click it and click it nothing happens but a hour glass pops up beside the mouse and thats it. it worked real good and tonight and last night the thing didnt do NOTHING

I have the same problem as this person does. When I click on the Icon to open it nothing happens.

Your pc may not be fast enough even mine do's it what it's trying to do is compile ever thing all at once and it just take's a little bit longer that's all
Or try to do a defrag on your drive or drive's if you have two.Or a nother reason is you dont have enough Ram you need at lest 1GB now a days to have a fast computer.i have 768 witch is a 256chip and a 512chip that's =768mb of ram witch is more than enough for your pc.But if i am wrong that you both have more than that then that's good.You all so might have a lot of bad problems that you dont no about yet.I would try this.System Machanic 7 Professional it's about 50$ at walmart but here is a link from download.com it's a 30 day trail.

Okay I Fixed my Limewire On My Windows XP. For the past 6 Days, Every time I tried to open LW, Nothing would happen. I went to Add/Remove programs and deleted Java and all of the updates. I went to the Sun website and Downloaded the SE JRE version 6 offline installer. I saved the program to my documents, double clicked on the Java Icon and installed version 6 without any updates. The LW Icon on my desktop worked when I clicked on it, but an error message popped up saying an error ocurred and to download LimeWire again. I popped in my LimeWire Pro disk and Downloaded it again. I had to go through the setup process again, but I just did a quick search on my hard drive to get all my files back into the LimeWire library. I hope you didn't get as frustrated as I did, and I hope maybe this was helpful. If you need better instructions as to how I did this, Private message me and I will give you a better description of what I did to resolve the issue.
