4.16.10 is the version that has the problem. 4.12.10 shows better performance than 4.16.10. 4.12.10 doesn't jam the downloads up when the window is closed. I might just downgrade to 4.12.10 and use that until Limewire gets the bugs in 4.16.10 fixed.

4.16 will not take all of the CPU.I have been useing for the last month.it is only useing 10% of my Cpu when it is runing. All you have too do is go to Tools>Options>Advanced>Performance. And Tick the Disable TLS Capabilities.

Default A problem with Limewire’s performance lately

Much better. Thank you for the advice. It's amazing what a simple check on something can do.

The only thing now is to find out why Limewire is using so much memory. It's using an average of 67,300 k (67mb) worth of memory. I saw this when I brought the task manager up to see how much memory it was using. Could this be a simple temporary crash or glitch somewhere or is it nothing to worry about like a simple exit out and restart the program to balance the memory usage out?

Oh, I thought 64mb and above was a high usage rate. I've seen the earlier versions of Limewire run on about 10mb-20mb at the highest.

I'm have 512mb worth of memory with a 3.7ghz Intel Celeron.

How many Stick's of ram do you have is it just one 512 stick or two 256 chips. If you only have one 512 stick than you can put one or two in depending on how many open spaces you have open.If you only have one open than go out and get your self another 512 stick. It's about 60 to 80 dollars depending on where you go.If you put another 512 in than that will give a little over a Gig of ram witch is quite good i only have 768.Just make sure you get the right kind if you dont it will not fit or mess the pc up.

So far, as of today (2-26/27-2008,) I have the Ultrapeer, Mojito DHT, and the TLS capabilities checked off, but more and more memory gets taken up as time passes since early this morning. Limewire has now been taking up about 70-80mb worth of memory. I'm not going to waste $60-$80 on another 512mb of memory just for Limewire. I would buy more memory IF I were going to be using more programs at one time (Heavier work,) but not just for Limewire . I'd rather downgrade and wait for the problem with 4.16.10 to be fixed .

I originally thought that there was something wrong with my computer when it started running slow, but the problems started immediately after I installed 4.16.10.
