Limewire Keeps Popping up

Okay I have had limewire for some time now and everything has been fine. Now everytime I turn on my computer it automatically pops up and thats not the only time I can be on the computer and all of a sudden it pops up again and again and again do you know what I can do to stop it from popping up like this

You have a virus. Try the fix in this thread: To fix the limewire keeps popping up / no taskmanager bug do the following

AVG(free) might be able to fix it. Be sure to update it before you scan your computer: AVG Free Advisor: AVG Anti-Virus Free, then follow the prompts.

Limewire wont stop opening!!

Hi everyone.. yesterday my daughter opened an exe file that must have had a virus in it.. My Lime wire wont stop trying to open.. My Windows Task Manger is working fine and over all my computer seems to be working ok.. Here is what I have tried so far..
  • Used 2 different virus scans (AVG and Mcafee) both found no problems.
  • I ran my spysweeper.
  • I ran my Reg Mechanic
  • Microsoft Malicious software remover. No problems found
  • I also tried the fix that is recomended elsewhere in this forum using Brute Force uninstaller but everytime I do it gets to 98%, then stops responding.
  • I tried to do a system restore but it wont let me. I get an incomplete mesage no matter what date I choose.
  • I Looked at my HiJack this log and didnt really see anything different then I usually do..
I did all this in Safe Mode, I had uninstalled Limewire during this time. I re installed Lime wire and its still doing the same thing.. I have once again uninstalled it till I can figure out something. Any help would be greattly appricated.. I am worried this Virus/worm my be doing more damage..

Thanks

Update

OK, well I found the problem.. It was a Trojan Horse called Generic 9! There was about 7 files infected.. I updated my AVG and this time it found them.. I quarantined them and now everything is working better. I reinstalled LW and its now operating correctly. Also I noticed that one of the infected files was in my restore directory so I assume that is why I couldn't restore my computer.. I have restarted my computer several time now and everything seems to be still working so I hope I have removed it all.. I assume I should copy my Hijack This log and summit it to those who know but I am not sure where to do that at.. As mentioned elsewhere at this forum, beware of small files!! Thanks..

Thanks.. I have ran my AVG software 2 more times both times after restarting the computer and it hasnt found any more infected files so I hope I have gotten them all.. I had not noticed how much that virus had slowed me down, after removing those infected files my computer has been a lot more stable and is moving better..

Once AVG found the Trojan I googled it and I read where people were having alot of trouble with it.. I read some poeple had it in a lot of files and I also read where people would delete it and it would come right back after start up.. I have been keeping my fingers crossed all day, but I dont want to jinx myself yet.. lol

Limewire Popping Up

I have been using limewire for about 3 years now. I have never had any problems until about a week ago. Heres the problem...

Limewire works perfect while its running. Even before I start it everything works fine. As soon as i close limwire it starts running (BY ITSELF). It Re-Runs limwire all over again. No matter how many times i close it it just opens again. The only thing that can stop it from opening is uninstalling it.

Can anyone help me with this?
please contact me via email
