I`ve been using the new Beta version and today when I tried to shut it down, the little please wait, shutting down Limewire box just sits there in the middle of my screen and goes on and on. Task manager says it is still running...any ideas as to how to solve this one?

It depends on which kind of computer you have. In Windows you can hit the control-alt-delete
key combination, then use the Task Manager to stop any program.
