Thumbs down Same Error

I came across the same error, and the same in frostwire. I have no idea what it is and can not stop it from trying to load, even though it isn't installed anymore. I killed the limewire in msconfig and in services.msc! I have no idea any help because my computer does not like limewire or frostwire.

I too am having the same problem. I want to reinstall limewire and change the settings so that I don't share any files at all but that's doesn't seem to work. The same goes for the options. when I try to open the options tab it either exits out or freezes completely.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've had this a couple months now and still haven't found a solution.

I've got the same problem. It started after I download a "supposed" photoshop filter pack. I unpacked the .rar file and the setup.exe file installed something that is causing this issue. I had over 12,000 files shared. It is sharing them from the c:\\windows\fonts\'\ file but that folder isn't even visible. I've went directly to that filename and deleted all of the files (a bunch of 113kb .rar files with different program names) and it will always reinstall all of these files on my computer in the same location. It also doesn't allow me to shut off limewire or edit any settings. If I shut down limewire, it starts it back up within a few minutes. I've deleted limewire 4 different times and reinstalled various versions and it's helped nothing. The latest install showed this error box message:

LimeWire version 4.16.7
Java version 1.6.0_05 from Sun Microsystems Inc.
Windows XP v. 5.1 on x86
Free/total memory: 31407928/33357824

STARTUP ERROR!

I have no idea what it means but hopefully somebody does and can fix this problem. It's obvious that someone is exploiting the limewire system to force people to share their "virus" programs without meaning to. I'm about ready to lose my mind over this crap.

I downloaded adware and a few virus scanning programs and seem to have eliminated the problem.

Try > Nod32 - Free Virus Scan: Use ESET's Online Antivirus Scanner

It's safe.
It works.
It also removes/repairs.
You do not need to do anything to any of your existing a-v apps.

Free.

nod32 is probably the best anti-virus tool around today.
The free sacn and fix obviously doesn't protect you but it finds more crap than anything else now in the public market.

If you've got a problem it will 98% sure find and fix it.
