Settings (Share and Monitor)

I added a directory for sharing and every time I start LimeWire again the setting is gone. The same is true about what I am monitoring.In fact no setting is remembered. It always uses the install defaults!

Is this something that requries the pay version or what am I doing worng?

You should be able to save the settings by clicking Apply, if this is not happening there is something strange going on.

I remember having a few crashes when I d/l new version and after crashes my settings were not saved.

Try File/Close, re-launch.. see if it works

Sorry, it still does not remember the added share directory. I downloaded the latest version and it still does not work.

It also took weeks to get an answer here. I am not likely to buy if it does not work and it takes that long to get support. I am NOT criticizing you, just the authors for not having any answers to such a simnple problem.

Sorry you're not having any luck with this problem, some people have reported the same thing and upto now I haven't seen an answer.

It is frustrating to see problems not addressed, I know. But most people on the forum are just users trying to help other users who are having trouble and they do it in their own time for no reward.

The developers don't patrole the forum every day, they don't have the time and believe me, I know how time consuming this can be, on a busy day I can spend 2 hours or more just reading. I think the life expectancy for a forum helper is about 6 months and we lose helpers all the time.

If it's not working for you, you may be able to use another gnutella client more successfully for now and come back and try LW on a future update. I'm trying Peerahna at the moment, it works well but it is very different and very new, took me some time to figure it out. You could try it and if you have problems, there are developers on IRC channel #gnutelladev, usually in the evening, European time, who may be able to help.

I realize that this is handled mostly by users and I do not blame you at all.
I do think that the developers ought to be more responsive. They want a contribution but will not give any help to allow you to find out if it will work for you first. That is not a way to sell a lot of copies. I appreciate the aid form the volunteers here but it will take the developer to fix this. It seems that I am not the only one with the problem.

This forum is strange; the subject of a post does not carry over, not at all like a thread should.
