Default Help me stop Limewire!!!!..pleeze (default for torrents)

Hi guys
i know this is going to sound weird but trust me there is a reason for it....when i download a bit torrent it AUTOMATICALLY goes on to Limewire..even if i have exited limewire..it pulls it up and logs me in...how can i stop this download going directly on to limewire??

Sounds like a virus. Try the fix in this thread(Try it first): To fix the limewire keeps popping up / no taskmanager bug do the following

More virus info in this thread: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!

You can also try downloading AVG(free), update it, and scan your computer: AVG Free Advisor: AVG Anti-Virus Free. We've had luck with it cleaning some other viruses.

not sure its a virus issue

problem is i have several different download sites e.g ABC as well as limewire......any idea how to set my system so that when i choose to download a torrent it doesnt AUTOMATICALLY go to limewire??

OK I see....I must have misread your first post. You just need to go to the folder options for any folder and you can access the settings form there. Here's the long way around:

Go to Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes > Folder Options > File Types, in the window will be a list of file types, Scroll down the list till you find Torrent(TORR). Hi-lite it and go below the window where it says "Opens With" and click "Change". Find the program you want in the list. hi-lite it and click ok. That should be it. Try d/loading something and see if it works.
