Hey everyone,
Limewire keeps switching to default torrent program EVERY TIME I open it, it is so annoying. I keep switching to uTorrent as my default, but as soon as I open Limewire, it switches back. I know about switching file association and all, so I've done it through the manual window "File Types," and I'll make it say uTorrent, and its fine UNTIL I open it. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

The options are in my signature. Eliminate the cause and there is no problem

Another thing you could do is, start LW and go to Tools>Options>View>Popups, tick "Revert to Default", click "Apply" > "OK".
Then shut LW down and restart it. You'll get a popup about file associations. Tick "Always use this answer" then click "No". That'll stop LW from making itself your default torrent handler.

Tried that when testing 4.17.1
It didn't respect it very well for some reason. Maybe a bug, but if I had Limewire open at the time of clicking a torrentlink, I had to change the open using in FireFox, or it went to Limewire instead of Azureus. Maybe that's fixed now? Edit: on second thought, I don't think I reverted to default... not sure, but when asked, if asked, when first using it. There is no way I would choose yes, as I hate the torrent part of Limewire. |

I just tried it with LW open and it opened in Vuze(formerly called Azureus). I agree with sleepless that you should use another program for torrents.
