I just purchased a new Lacie 1TB External hard drive. I hooked it up and transferred all my music from my C/ Drive to the new F/ drive without any problems. Bu when i try to change my saving folder in my LW options it gives me an error saying " saving files to F/ drive may not function properly, To ensure files are saved, choose a folder in C/ drive"
Any suggestions? |

Are you using USB or Firewire 400 or Firewire 800? (I believe either FW's would be better than USB.)
On my old computer I tried using a Lacie external drive (FW400) & LW didn't seem to like it. LW had problems reading the files from there, and each time I turned LW on it would forget that the external drive was location set to download to. For sharing perhaps, but for saving to, not so sure. The thing is most external drives are not active 100% of time. Lacie drives for example (many others do too), sort of go to sleep for a period when not being actively having files copying to or from. I guess LW loses communication with them easily. Since my last computer was quite slow I was not overly surprised I guess. I haven't tried on my new intel. But I also suspect LW is more sensitive than many other p2p sharing programs in that regard. I used the external drive ok with a different type of p2p sharing network some years back. |
